BUILDING: Plattsburgh City School District

The Plattsburgh City School District invites applications for the position of Treasurer/Business Official. The District
will consider varied experience and credentials, and is open to classifying this position as Treasurer, School Business
Executive/Official, or other related title.

GENERAL DUTIES:
The preferred candidate:

• Should have experience in public fund accounting (preferably in the school district setting)
• Will oversee or participate in various financial management functions including posting to ledger accounts, reconciling bank statements, budget development and oversight, grants management, and fund transfers.
• Will collaborate to ensure strong internal controls are followed, and will work with various auditors, including assisting in the interpretation and preparation of annual financial statements.
• Will serve as the custodian of all school district funds, including extra classroom activity funds.
• Will work closely with the Tax Collector, in making deposits, issuing receipts, preparing tax bills and researching issues.
• Will authorize the preparation of payroll checks.
• Will develop monthly cash flow statements and ensure that district obligations are met, oversee depositories/investments, and will periodically assist with bond sale preparations.
• Reporting responsibilities associated with this position include annual State financial reports, reporting associated with payroll, capital project claims submissions, other submissions (i.e. STAC) necessary to claim reimbursement, and other reporting as applicable.
