GRADE LEVEL and/or SUBJECT: 7-12
Position Overview: PCSD is seeking a dedicated and certified high school teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold a New York State certification issued by the New York State Education Department’s Office of Teaching Initiatives and will be passionate about teaching academic and/or technical subjects.

Qualifications:

• New York State Teacher Certification
• Strong knowledge and expertise in one or more of the following academic subjects: English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Economics, and Participation in Government.
• Proficiency in one or more of the following technical subjects as defined in Section 100.1(l) of Commissioner’s Regulations: Agricultural Education, Business and Marketing Education, Family and Consumer Sciences Education, Health Sciences Education, Technology Education, and Trade/Technical Education.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet state standards and curriculum guidelines.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration to support student success.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.

SALARY: Plattsburgh Teacher Contract
START DATE: September 1, 2025
