Letter from the Superintendent – 10.23.20
Dear Parents of the Plattsburgh CSD:
I acknowledge that I’ve been repetitive about this topic (hence the picture below), so I’ll try even harder herein to be concise. Each additional day of school ( even if in the hybrid mode) is a feat … but the end of the 7th week of instruction is particularly noteworthy. This was accomplished by tremendous work and self-discipline by all involved, and it is not only a great success, it is a collective one.
Given the increasing COVID infection rates in our County, these efforts will need to continue ( and maybe even increase) if we are to sustain this current level of’ openness’. Please keep up the great work with regards to hygiene, distancing, mask wearing, daily parent screenings for childrens’ symptoms, and keeping symptomatic individuals out of school buildings.
Additionally, logic and probability both dictate that our district will eventually be faced with temporary closure because of active case(s). To that end, I ask again that everyone remain flexible, as we may be made to ‘pivot’ very quickly (and hopefully briefly) into the remote mode of instruction. We hope this eventuality won’t befall us, but we need to be prepared for if/when it does.
Looking forward to our 8th week of hybrid-mode instruction!
Thanks,
Jay Lebrun
